Washing a City with Red Lights for World Aids Day

The city of Rio De Janeiro was awash in red light to mark World AIDs Day, which was on December 1st. Monuments across the city, including the iconic Christ the Redeemer, were lit up in red for 3 days. Seeing such a major change around the city was a great way to raise awareness about AIDS. Like many cities and countries, the topic of AIDs is filled with myths and prejudices. This $1.1 million campaign by the city of Rio, which also included offering testing, looked to change that and provide people with the correct information.
